    Default VeraTron CD Player?

I just won this for $6 off of Goodwill's auction site. I've never heard of the brand, but it looks like a rebranded Technics to me. Anyone know anything about them?

I'm not expecting much from it but it was $14 shipped. I'm sure I can scavenge parts out of it worth that if nothing else.

It arrived today. The insides are still reminding me of a Technics.

Nothing cool LC7881 DAC, BA4560 op amps, and a switch mode power supply on the main board.

I have no schematic. The transport, and it's controls appear that they will work independently of the main board. The transformer is on it's own board also.

I'm going to attempt reverse engineering it. That would be for another thread.

A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

It works fine. I think I can pull most of it out, and turn it into a transport with a digital out.

It was 6 bucks, so if I mess up I won't care.

Made in Korea in 1992. Not sure if Technics was ever made there but I don't know. So many far east manufacturers even then who would make whatever you wanted, you just stuck your own logo on.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

The styling, transport, power board, and linkage on the power switch look just like some Technics I've opened up. Whether or not it was condoned is different question. In that time period knock offs of just about everything were around. Samsung was guilty of making a lot of them. They knocked off a lot Panasonic/Technics stuff.

I haven't found any information about the brand. I've found other electronics they made. No other CD players yet. The circuitry is pretty basic and laid out on a single sided board. It actually looks like it has header pins that output the different stages including the i2s out of the transport. I'll have to hook up the scope to figure out what they do.
