Well, right or wrong, I keep my units on a big solid pine table about a foot from the lounge radiator to keep the turntable and cartridge slightly warm. I find that this gives a much better sound than really cold and of course it is more comfortable for me and the the other half.

    Sorted then.

Quick move around and think I'm preferring it this way.

If I find my components are getting too hot I'll have to reconsider.

Should be ok at that tbh. It low and away so wont be too affected. Can always add some reflective in between if needed. Cheap, wont be seen and effective.

Looks like a beautiful house. I don't think there is any danger that the radiator will make the kit overheat.

Our local regional programme goes as far as Benson and I remember on more than one occasion that it was coldest place on the weather forecast.....in the winter of course.

Hot air rises, so the rad is drawing cold air across your hifi. A small sheet of foil backed polystyrene will suffice for dealing with the radiated heat.

It really is not a problem unless gear is pressed up against it. Besides, better to leave on low temp all day rather than hot blasts. Adjust the thermostat until it's nice and keep on, no need to worry about the stereo!
