    Default New worst delivery ever!

Parcelfarce have managed to hit a box with such impact that it has shifted the fascia of the gorgeous Copland CSA28 inside from right to left so much that it stops the knobs from turning, I'm hoping it's just obstructing them rather than having bent them.

Needless to say a claim has been opened.

People don't appreciate just how well a box needs to be both braced and damped at the same time to stop such things from happening with heavy gear. You need to assume the box will drop off a truck onto concrete.

I was amazed that a very heavy, new and expensive unit got to me with lesser packaging, the transformers were rattling inside and I had to do minor repairs on arrival. Use UPS or a man in a van if you're not double packing, bracing and cushioning the unit.

What makes it frustrating is the fact that it was some of the best packing I have ever seen, very rigid box with cardboard inside to brace it, and a generous portion of bubble wrap and foam around the amp.

Dropping it wouldn't have done it, I can only assume it was thrown, pretty disappointing really.

Heavy units coming to a rapid halt often dont stop but packaging does. Even factory packing wont stop damage if tossed and dropped the way these guys often do. Ups is one of the best but not faultless. In many ways its just your luck. Ive had badly packed fragile stuff sent by hermes etc and arrived in perfect nick and well packed stuff sent by royal mail special delivery at 4 times price smashed. Sometimes you think they have gone out of their way to do it such is the unlikeliness of the thing getting trashed

A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

I am in the process of claiming damage to a subwoofer that I sent via DPD a few weeks ago.

I paid the extra insurance, they damaged it and have accepted the photographic evidence, but they are still dragging it out.

    Bunch of ass-hats!

I bought a Linn LK140 off E-bay a couple of months ago. It arrived well packaged (and covered in "Fragile" tape) but Parcelfarce still managed to ruin it. Dropping wouldn't cause the damage I saw (unless it was from a 3rd floor window) but throwing with considerable force might. It was tragic and I really felt for the poor bloke who'd sold it.

    Sorry to hear that.

That is exactly how I viewed my damage. Dropping it wouldn't have done it, it must have been thrown.

What really irks me is the courier takes no responsibility for it.
