Parcelforce use the force to deliver.
Mind you considering they deliver over a billion parcels each year with the vast majority delivered OK, it's not surprising some don't get through unscathed.
As for UPS, they delivered my well packed turntable shelf with the glass top damaged and the shelf had a 2mm droop forward of the vertical bracing, so it must have had quite an impact.
None of them are immune from it.
