It is that time of year again for routine maintainance of my beloved hi-fi system whereupon i dismantle everything, give it a clean and sort anything that i feel needs doing. Doing so i noticed the effects of my clumsiness and the ware and tear brought about by a few years worth of placing, replacing and the general movement of equipment upon my two Usher equipment racks. scratches, gouges, dinks and bumps, what a mess?
So, having recently attended a couple of Annie Sloan chalk painting workshops i thought what the hell, i can't make any more of a mess of them than they already are. so i set about the task of disassembling the racks and cleaning the shelves with some sugar soap. having texture finishing the top shelf i roller finished the rest. as i write the shelves are all out in the garage awaiting my tired cold ass to go and wax finish them before reassembly. I have no doubt that cupboard paint and the likes would be just as good but for now Annie Sload really has come to the rescue. I will keep you posted on the finishes item.
