    Default Blu Tack Alternatives

I have recently purchased some stone slabs to go under the LV's but was wondering if there is anything better to use apart from Blu Tack under the speakers to isolate them from the slabs

    Any suggestions much appreciated..

I had some marble slabs under mine and the best sound was using the 'rough' side up and using spikes which would grip on the rough side. The spike would slip on the polished side, but having polished side down had the advantage of sliding the speakers on the carpet for best positioning.

I cut the bottoms out of some silicone muffin moulds my fiance was throwing away. Presto! 1mm thick silicone pads.

If you want something that sticks I use something better than blutak. Buy some lead flashing, or the type used to insulate car doors from vibrations (eBay) and put in fridge. Then peel off the black bitumen from the 'lead' foil. It's marvellous stuff and unlike blutak doesn't get tacky or messy unless very very warm.

What about using car engine core plugs? They are usually cadmium plated, so won't rust. Place them domed side up and use BluTak under them against the stone to stop them moving about.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Yup. Looks the same. I can check exactly which I bought if you like but it looks same. I bought them originally to act as a damping layer in the TT and by chance discovered the bitumen is great to use for other stuff and less messy than blutak which can go a bit weird after a while.
