About the same Bev, was the sweet spot after a lot of faffing about.
Tried a few pair of active 'hifi' speakers on my computer (JBL Control 5's, recent Wharfedale Diamonds and the like) and none have been as good as the Aego M's to me.

    Again, good choice Bev.

    Thanks Gary...

I am absolutely amazed how such tiny speakers can sound so good... they are very musical as well.. very foot tapping...

Did you use anything under the little speakers to isolate them ? I've just 'plonked' them down on the desk at the moment

    Nope.

An avid 'plonker' myself, I just put them on my desk and enjoyed.

The sub handles the 'rumbly' frequencies where isolation n such actually matters and being Acoustic Energy they have already thought of this stuff in advance.

My experiece, just put the boxes where you need 'em and enjoy.

    Plonked seems ok to me

I have the sub where I can reach it at the moment but will probably 'hide' it somewhere underneath the desk in a while

Well happy with the AE's and for what I paid they seem a complete bargain to me

I had a pair of Creative GigaWorks T20's for a little while and they didn't sound anywhere near as good as the 42's. I did not have them long enough to try against the AE's but they wouldn't have stood a chance against them to be honest

I think the T40's might have been a bit closer sound wise though

Which Creative's do you have Grant ?

Got my TDK S60 NXT system rigged up in here. Had it for a long time, sounds decent enough. Got a beautiful Cyruslink setup in the other room.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

I was the same as you Grant in not liking subs that's why I went for the 42's but now having the AE's has kinda changed my thoughts about subs...

The AE's are so very good and I am still amazed that such tiny little speakers can sound so superb.... I've been listening all night to the AE's and am very impressed

The little speakers only measure about 10cm x 7cm and I have absolutely no idea how they create the sound they do
