We need a venue fairly close to the main trunk roads or motorways, so journey time for folks travelling distances is kept reasonable.
Gear gets tossed around more on the twisty roads as well.

I'll let you know if I think of anywhere.
Aye, I only mentioned it as the venue I had in mind was perfect.

Have you tried The Old Mill in Thinford, or the Eden Arms in Chilton?

Although I am biased as I only live a couple of miles from Saltburn I have to disagree that it is too far off the beaten track, its about 15 minutes from the A19.

It is certainly no more difficult than Hartlepool or Seaton Carew to get to and a lot more picturesque.

I'm coming from Bolton, so i'm not too concerned exactly where in the North East it is.

Yep, don't think 15 mins off the motorway is a big deal.

Google maps says 24 mins. If you exit Nr Maltby and go due East.

Sat Nav will probably bring you off earlier and do more of a diagonal to it, shorter overall but taking longer on the A and B roads.

I just raised it, cos last time I went, I underestimated how long to get there.

Anything South of the Tees isn't proper North East anyway

That would be a YOBO then?

My dear friend and associate Floyddroid has visited the venue today and confirmed it now appears closed so I'll be trying a few different options on Monday, including those suggested. Thanks

Not a hill of beans for me either, as I'll be coming from Stoke (with Macca). Just tell us where the action is, dudes, and we'll be there!
