I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

Do they need to be kept away from rear walls like quads?

They are nowhere near as fussy as quads but some rear space is beneficial.

Yes they are a bit OTT for a second system, prefer the quads in the primary system

    Wow, I'm really surprised.

I really liked them. Great airy sound, very good detail but the sound stage is phenomenal. Best ever heard. Really feels like you could walk around the musicians (I'm sure I've just stole that phrase)

    Definitely worth the money.

Wow - and I thought I had nifty footwork when it came to boxswapping.

Great speakers, I really enjoyed my time with them.

And Alan is, of course, a gent to do business with.

    Ben,
What about Frugel 3s that Steve at Electric beach makes. Would fit your parameters regards placement and your music taste/cost. Steve makes them to order finish wise.

They do sound staging and delicacy very close to 57s with a bass quality and quantity that is way beyond what you would expect.
