    Default Castle Richmond II Speakers

    Hello Guys

Im seeking fellow Castle fans for some advice - I've bought a pair of Richmond II for my local sally army £5 again. So here goes they need light restoration BUT one of the tweeters has the black seethe - cloth missing i have not tested them yet but the cones are good. Any advice would they be OK to use as they are with the tweeter like this - or does anyone have a spare i could buy these are the ones with the silver plate.

    Thank you

I got some durhams from a charity shop for £20 a few years ago. Weren't for me but obviously had no problem selling them on without a loss. They were a bit too relaxing for my liking, possible taking the other cloth off might improve matters and then there will be no risk of treble imbalance but try them before you do that. If you actually want to warm them up you're better off finding something similar and sticking it over the tweeter plate. If I recalled they looked a bit like tights material but not sure which denier!!

If these are those old Castle plastic cone tweeters, I can tell you we have successfully replaced these with £6.46 Monacor HT-22/8 which fits.

This tweeter is dirt cheap and works well, I have them myself. If you need to drop level about 3dB, a couple of 2.2R (3W) and 15R (7W) wirewound resistors from Maplin ought to do the attenuator bit. Best replaced as pairs, of course. You could probably sell the working Castle original and show a profit too.
