I thought I recalled that the bass units were made by Audax, but googling says the are SEAS CB12 RCY

In this case, Google's got it wrong. The HB2 used a Bextrene coned Audax unit. I can't remember the type number, but I do know they've been unobtainable for at least 25 years. I think it was the fact that Audax stopped making the bass unit tha lead to the HB2 going out of production in '85 or '86. I suspect that the SEAS unit may have been used in the following HB2R, which was very different and considerably less successful.

Edit: Audax HD17B 25H. Trawled up from the fog in the nether regions of my memory...

My memory told me it was an Audax. Good speakers IMO too.
