Default Desmo V blocks for GL75 arm. Fantastic upgrade.

Jimbo of this parish was almost insistent that I replace my original V blocks in the arm and so I ordered some Desmo V blocks.

Having taken the old ones out I could inspect them very closely and they were shot. The V was very worn.

I am sure those of you that have heard my system and thought it is good will be as impressed as I am with the upgrade.

What an improvement. More cohesion to every instrument and voice. More detail. More 'solidity' of image. Lower surface noise.

Brilliant. Stunning sound from vinyl with an other wise stock GL75.

Yeah. The old rubber V blocks left a lot to be desired. As they age the knife edge cuts down into them and the blade gets 'sandwiched' limiting movement and ruining the sound. Hard blocks are way better. I made my own from tufnol, worked fine.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Same result here Alan . Big improvement in all areas with the Desmo blocks . I couldn't inspect the old ones though as they had basically turned to dust
