    Just ordered a pen.
    Thanks for the recco Marco

After cleaning my valve pins, I will rinse with full fat coke (got loads of the stuff now I'm on the Diet version to chase my Rum ) & when dry Deoxit.

Do you just spray on the Deoxit, or wipe with a clean cloth ?

No worries, matey. I just Deoxit'd them and wiped the pins with a dry, clean cloth. Either that, or spray thoroughly with some Isopropyl alcohol, which will remove any remaining 'residue', and leave to evaporate and dry naturally

Also, always remember to clean the glass tubes themselves afterwards, to prevent fingerprints becoming 'baked onto' them when the valves become hot!

And, for that reason, always install your cleaned valves, either with thin gloves on, or with a cloth held against them.

    Marco.

I always use gloves when handling valves, I treat them like I would old school car headlight bulbs
I use the cotton gloves I received with my Proac speakers (nice touch I thought at the time ).

Just finished cleaning the valve pins, put them back in, nice improvement especially mid range detail

Now where did I put that bottle of Appletons ?????

PS: Tomato Ketchup is also good for cleaning metal
