The beautiful black Japanese lacquer finish is immaculate, as is the build quality and the cost very reasonable. Will install an SME M-12R on the LHS and either an SME3009 or a Breuer Dynamic 5A arm on the turntable armboard.

The plinth is of solid Bastin-style construction and weighs 11.4Kg; nearly 50% heavier than the TT.
Curious to know what you're doing re IEC mains attachment, using that plinth?

The Thorens deck has a long 2-core mains lead fitted which will exit through the plinth base where there is a large cut-out for the motor.

More probematic was the arrangement of the signal interconnects for the SME M2-12R. On that arm, as with all later 3000 series derivatives, horizontally-mounted phono sockets are used. Any horizontally fitted phono plugs will thus clash with the thick solid plinth, so to get around that I had to buy a special lead fitted with right-angle phono plugs at the arm end.
