When I did my darkroom printing back in the early eighties I used to use Agfa Record Rapid and Portriga Rapid. The photographs from medium format won me no end of awards with three of them appearing in magazines. I loved those papers so much until they were made to remove cadmium from the formulation. After that the whole darkroom world was not worth it anymore. All of that deep creamy brown effect had completely gone and we were left with plastic coated shit. There are still a couple of papers that shine out but these days I stick with scanning negatives and making digital prints. This way I almost get the best of both worlds.
