Default Croft series 5 valve layout

Hi I wondered if anyone knew what the valve layout of a series 5 Croft amplifier?
It's the one that's got the cage all round it ...at the moment the valve amp has 8 el84's and another four ecc83's but I'm sure there should be any ecf82 in there somewhere ..
there's a hum, (not the wife's cooking),and background noise and I think it's due to the wrong valve placement. can I find any info on the net? you must be joking... please help desperate Dan

    Desperate Dan, see http://theartofsound.net/forum/showt...by-Glenn-Croft

The picture showing the valves shows the big 6080 valve in the middle, to the right are 3x ECC83.
To the left of the 6080 are the regulator valves, the reference valve to the front and I guess the 4th ECC83 behind that.

    Hope that helps,

    Alan

Thank Alan...yes, I've spotted that page already...but not sure if all small valves are ECC83?
There are 4 that I'm concerned about...like you said, 3 to the right and one to the left...are they all Ecc83's?
Million Dollar question...we'll a bit less actually....!

    Regards

Sorry for late reply, but got a reply from the master...

"The standard valve line up in the S5 used 4 x ECC83. The CV4024 could be used in place of the middle one of the 3 ECC83s.
    All the best,
    Glenn."

    Sorted..and thanks for your input..
    Regards
    Don
