Phono Y splitter and running 2 amps , 4 speakers ?
Hello Peeps .
Not really sure this should be in here ,but its as good a place as any !!
Been cobbling together a second system for my mancave. Despite it being cheap ,hopefully it will be as good as I need ,because I doubt my hearing is that good nowadays to worry about top end stuff!
Also ,my other half will gut me if she knows I am spending too much
I bought a 95 watt /channel SU -VX700 Technics a while back . I am very pleased with it really (although I swear it takes it a few minutes warming up , to sound right!) and I have added a Denon CD player and a tuner to go with the Sony Minidisc recorder , both are exactly what I need.
Had a bit of a think about my Mission 752 speakers. Had them for 2 yrs or more ,and they are nice and musical , and since JacHawk gave me an old Rel Q50 sub (top man ) (respeakered it !) they have been ok , and now I upgraded the amp , even better somehow , despite me worrying that they are a tad too small. I never wanted a sub , but wow ,how it puts that extra whoomph into the room and on most forms of music , I can up the treble and lower the bass a bit ,Perfick!!
Now then , when I bought the CD and Tuner ,I also had to buy the SU-V700 Tech/s amp and 2 Mission 733 speakers chucked in . The one bass cone had cracked badly on one side and the covers were hanging off at the top (like they always do when the plastic pegs snap off) So ,I repaired the cone for now with a strip of soft clear plastic and some wood glue ,and put black Velcroe on the covers. They sound nearly or as good as the 752's!!
I wondered ,rather than putting the 4 speakers on the VX 700 , put the other v700 into the system and split the line output into the 2 amps and run one set of speakers on each?
I know that you then need to match or play around with the volumes on each , try and keep the left /rights correct , but has anyone any comments ,other than I am mad ??
Oh , and I need a cable , a phono splitter to allow me to share the line level output to the 2 amps?
That shouldn't be a problem should it?
I only ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em work
