Well as far as I'm concerned this is a dead thread now... If anyone should begin actually building one then I will help them but until/unless......

It does seem sometimes the enthusiasm for one particular personal interest is wasted on others, others either have no time or interest in making anything except coffee whilst listening to MP3 crap.
That why all the good electronic mags have gone and mags involving selfie is the game.
Shame and this will be why the Chinese will rule the world , because we gave it to them.

I've already said I'll have a go at this as soon as I have some free time. I already have a donor preamp waiting to undergo surgery. Sorry Jez but you can't just expect people to drop what they're doing and jump to it.

Over 12,500 members and 2 months since I started the thread.... 'nough said. Both myself and Colin have put some time and effort into this and one or two members may make one.. eventually.. apparently. If you do I'll give further help but other than that... I'm outta here...

I really fancy having a go at this Jez but I am lost at the diagram. Pointless even starting out. I do applaud your intention and willingness to share a free design though. Hopefully one day I can have a crack at it.
