    Talking Overlenght cables

Advice please I have been given a pair of 4m Chord Rumour 2 speaker cables .
They are to long but I don't want to chop them up yet so how would you store the excess length rolled up behind the speaker or rolled up behind the hi-fi stand.

Quick review of them I had talk 3.1 cables before this is the first time I have ever had a night to day experience with a upgrade they totally opened up my system bass and treble so clear and bring albums I've listened to for 35 years hearing so much more vocals transformed I know my system is not high end but they have brought a smug grin to myself

Doubting Jez Just dont think it good practice to coil cables that are being used.
Whether sonically it will make a difference is up to listener.

They are lines of sight between 1 landmark and another, either natural or man-made. Jez was using his sceptical line of humour I think.

Don't coil them up (that could increase the inductance), rather lay them down in a loose serpentine pattern.

Just make sure it is as far away from your power cables as possible.

The vdh cable has a rep for being a bit mellow so Chord might well be a good change - I use it myself (Odyssey 2) and it only rarely connects an amp and speakers it doesn't like. Can be a bit on the thin side tonally with some combos.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

Erm ..you could store or Sell on your existing cables. Then buy Suitable lengths of CAT 5e Or 6 ... for the price of a decent Pint and use it (2 twisted pairs for + - ) as Speaker cables.
Seriously unlikely one would audibly better that.. in under 3 m lengths.
