Shure V15 Type III with spare VN-35E stylus
Selling on behalf of a friend, a Shure V15 III cartridge with an additional spare VN-35 E stylus.
The cartridge and both styli come complete in their ‘treasure chest’ housings with outer card covers and information leaflet.
Stylus profile
The VN-35E stylus has a biradial (elliptical) diamond tip constructed with a broad frontal plane radius of 18 microns (0.0007”) while the side contact radii are 5 microns (0.0002”) and the spacing between the record contact points is 25 micron (0.001”).
The major feature of these styli is their superior TRACKABILITY. Because of it, all records will sound better and in fact you will hear some recordings tracked for the first time without distortion.
Specification
The V15 Type III cartridge, fitted with the VN-35E stylus has the following specification
Tracking force: 0.75g to 1.25g
Trackability: in an SME 3009 tonearm with VN-35E at 1.0g (Reference: Shure TTR103 Laboratory Test Record)

1,000Hz – 38 cm/sec
5,000Hz – 35 cm/sec
10,000Hz – 26 cm/sec.
Frequency response (using optimum load): 10 to 25,000Hz
Output voltage (at 1,000Hz, 5cm/sec peak recorded velocity): 3.5mV per channel
Channel balance: within 2dB
Channel separation:
25db at 1,000Hz
15dB at 10,000Hz.
Stylus condition
When examined using a x30 jeweller’s loupe and a x60 illuminated stylus inspection microscope, both stylii appear clean with a good and symmetrical profile and show little sign of wear. I have attempted to show this with the two images (one for each stylus) taken with a USB microscope.
