LOL, why is it no one in England can spell my name?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Sorry Ali, now amended. If it is any consolation no-one in England can spell my name although Americans seem to have no trouble with it.

I've added Alan's full kit list. Another reel To reel. That's 3 so far! Don't suppose anyone has any Tape Project albums (or originals) they could bring?

If anyone has a pair of the following triodes (that definitely work!): 45, 245, 345, PX-4, 6A3, 300B, 101D I'd really appreciate it if you brought them along. Interested to try anything that'll work in the B7 as triode swaps change the nature of the sound of the DAC quite markedly.

    I'll bring a few different types - Sylvania VT52, Cunningham CX-345 (1920s!!!), Tung-Sol 6A3, TJ 2A3 etc...

I'll bring speakers. If I need to take a passenger or two it will be the Regas, if I come on my own it will be the Edingdales. My car is so much smaller nowadays
One of these days... I'm going to cut you into little pieces.

I'll probably bring the Khozmo pre, Wyred4soundRemedy, Mus fid DAC and a Yam 2700 universal player too, so effectively a system. The Yam will play DVD-As or high res burnt to DVDAs through the the DAC etc, but not SACDs. Personally I can't tell the difference reliably between this and red book but people might like to try...
