If like me your cack handed with a soldering iron and want to upgrade your Bdac....
Tirna will be able to offer the Mutara Regs, Rubycon Caps mod in a couple of weeks when stocks of the components are confirmed.
    Check the website
    http://www.tirnaelectronics.co.uk/ for confirmation of availability.

Also, the latest mods upgrading caps to Elna Silmic II will be available soon too, but I believe this will be stock limited so watch website for details.

I've used Tirna before, quality work and very reasonable.

Thanks to top work by Tirna on Friday there, got the Elna caps mod done.

(I bought my own components and took my Dac down to them to do as I live locally)

To say my 7520 has came on a bit of a journey is an understatement.

Along with the Elna Cap mods I have upgraded to the Rubycons and the Mutara Regs..
oh, and the Wolfsen Dac chip swapped over too.
I'm using AD826 Opamps, which after trying lots of different kinds are the best to my ears, seems to bring the best of the rest without the downsides.
I'm running it at 15V with a diffrent PSU as well.

Anyway, I literally just plugged it in half hour ago after a weekend away and a funny thing happened...

My Virgin Media box and DVD player are wired into the Dac as well as my SB Touch, and i had gotten the coax's from the DVD player and the Touch mixed up when wiring it all together.
So..power on, only to hear the sound of the last DVD I had in playing unexpectedly.

Friggin' Nora...talk about voices in the room?
And this is with my system just plugged back in after a weekend away?

I spent about 10 minutes just listening to what I was hearing from the DVD player..without the TV even being on.

No more comments about sound quality just yet...that was just an initial first impression.

Plugged the SB Touch in and...well...

Leaving in going for a few days to see what happens, but as far as the Elna cap mods? If you have everything else done?

Sell a kidney or whatever and just get it done, ok?
    Seriously.

I wonder if there will ever be a day when it is not possible to get any more performance out of the Beresford DAC's?
