When you say 'not lock shut' do you mean it just sticks out a little as if something was jamming it just open?

There could be something stuck in the mechanism or a broken plastic tooth if the drawer unit uses plastic gears.
Worth having a good look around the mechanism, hopefully t will be something easy to fix.

Did it ever stick or jam? It may have jumped a cog

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

As above, likely a V minor issue.
Pop it open and sort it ? Simpler than dragging it to a shop.. and back, I would think.

    I last had a CD63Ki about 10 years ago.

I remember the drawer starting to creak and I put a bit of vaseline on the drawer teeth and all was good again !
