Of course this assumes that 50 is invoked at some point. I predict if that does happen/ which is by no means certain, a deal will have been cut in the backrooms by that point. The EU does have a track record of breaking its own rules when it suits.
Where is the evidence to support your assertions, or are you making it up as you go along

Why would you assume that would not be invoked? To ignore the will of the people would be undemocratic would it not?

I still say Gove looks like Himmler. Is it an omen?

At least the theoretical opportunity to f##k the government, rather than the other way around would be a possibilty.

I'm not assuming anything. I'm exploring the possibilities given the limited courses of action possible on both sides. It is not impossible that the referendum result will be ignored. Legally it is an option, although I don't think there is any precedent for ignoring a referendum result. If 50 is not invoked then it would seem there must still be some sop given to the 17 million who voted out. Quite what I don't know. In any case until it is invoked there is a chance it will not be. That is a fact.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
