We've been here before.
Swansea City and Cardiff City chose to play in the English league, not the Welsh League, for rather obvious reasons.
They're not the only teams from Wales to make that choice either.
They were given the choice because Wales is the Principality of Wales.
The whole of Wales was annexed by England and incorporated within the English legal system under the Laws in Wales Acts 1535–1542, and it's that that gives the Welsh clubs the right to choose which league to play in.
As a concession to playing in the English league the clubs have had to give up the right to play in the Welsh league and competitions, which is no bad thing, because the FAW are a bunch of colloquial, petty buggers at the best of times.

The same does not apply to Scotland, with the exception of the SFA being a bunch of colloquial, petty buggers at the best of times.
Celtic and Rangers will not get approval from the SFA.
The discussion ends, because there's nothing to discuss.

That may be the case. Doesn't make it right, though! It also shows that the 'E' in EPL, as you mentioned earlier, is somewhat of a misnomer...

Oh, boo-hoo... See above. We've actually WON the European cup before, and yet still have to play three CL qualifying rounds. Mind you, that was a wee while ago, although a year after when England last won the World Cup, which we're all reminded of at regular intervals!!

I was less than 2 years old when Celtic won the European cup, so have no recollection of it whatsoever. It still happened, though - and they were also in the final again in 1970

Yes, of course I understand where you're coming from, but equally, I think you know where I'm coming from, too! Celtic have long outgrown the SPL and deserve to be playing *somewhere* else, swimming in a pond with equally big fish.

An utterly amazing team, mate - and nearly all from Glasgow too, except Bobby Lennox, who was from Saltcoats, in Ayrshire. That will certainly never happen again!

The 3 teams from scotland who won euro competitions all had Full scottish players if memory serves. Oddly when Celtic had that side Gers had a super side too.
