    Default DIY Record storage

More record storage has been on the cards for a long time now. As well as being a fussy git, i need custom sizes & style. I also wanted a matching Stereo unit to go in with the stacking storage.

Design was Space 1999 esq low sheen white finish with chrome plated legs [on the base units]

I've been making em for a while now but decided to just get the three items finished before making some more.

I'll cut the adjustable shelf for the small unit this afternoon & get a piece of toughened smoke glass cut for the top..

Here first coat of Primer Stereo unit section, rub down between coat before the final finish..

Very smart Andre. You do have a knack with turning out decent looking items.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Made enough storage for 15 foot stretch.. Im trying to avoid making any more. one idea is i have a load of original Orange Gustavsberg racks i could line up on top of the long double storage units.. 12" singles take up a lot less space than LP's do.. If i do that i will cut a piece of 5mm Orange Acrylic isted of the Smoked glass top.

Shame that.. those looked as nicely crafted.. at least in the photos.
Hey! I use Repurposed Plastic Milk crates.. Low in elegance.. High in ease of use and availability (free) modular (sort of) too.

After long consideration i blindly ordered some 'Kallax' High Gloss White storage..I think a bit of imagination they should look ok. Ill fit the Chrome adjustable legs on the bottom. Paint the rear wall Orange they should look ok..

They seem to be popular enough with Vinyl lovers

Terrible speaker placement in that second photo...

The Ikea are okay but have to say I preferred your builds - looked more Space 1999
