Hope all involved don't mind me reviving this thread?

Going from Pre to power amp would you still only terminate the -ve at one end and if so which end would this sit once complete?

Personally I would try it connected at the pre end have a good listen, then swap the cable round so it is at the power amp end and see which I preferred.

You could also try it with the shield completely disconnected.

So no adverse effect to be had leaving the negative totally disconnected? Think I'll keep it available but taped up just in case I want to experiment. Cheers Cagey.
