    I started out using foam products from Auralex. I thought they had a good effect but in fact they didn't absorb below 125Hz therefore did nothing to improve low bass issues. Eventually I invested in GIK products and this, plus positioning and a bit of EQ has got me a satisfactory sound. I measure using Room EQ Wizard (REW).

    Yeah! That's a decent amount of proper treatment.

    I think the 'Superchunk' style of bass trap is quite straightforward to build up, effective and not too intrusive (obviously it would be covered in fabric when finished)
