Exactly my findings too, have them throughout my system.
To me, given that what eventually becomes your musical signal goes through the fuse, I see it as a fundamental part of the power supply.

Its ok your system wouldn't suddenly sound shit without them!
As with everything its a choice.

Happy knowing I'm made the most if the kit I have and can forget about it.
Thats worth the price of admission for me.
