Ah, okies... The thing about head amps (and SUTs) is that the results you get are very cartridge/phono stage dependent. It's almost impossible to create a 'one size fits all', as it were. The ultimate way to design them, is to have them configured/tailored by the manufacturer to suit a particular application.

yup, I'd deffo agree. it was just that we both used the same cart. I tried it on 2 mm stages and got same results, then when switched the main stage over to mc, and touched nothing the bass sprang back.
As I say the big Celestions may be the culprit, or it may even have been the extra cable...dunno, but it was marked enough for me to note it.
