It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

The good bits are the values people had back then, the slower pace of life, the satisfaction of simpler things and the comparative lack of commercialism and consumerism. Standards in certain valuable social and educational areas were also much higher than they are now.

All of which is why we divorce ourselves, as far as possible, from today's 'rat race' and live where the roads are quiet, the air is fresh, people say 'hello' to each other as they walk down the street, there is little hustle and bustle, you have TIME to do what you want when you want [i.e YOU are in control of your time, not someone else], life is FUN and you feel as if you're living, rather than merely existing, which unfortunately is the case for so many people today, and crucially, you wake up in the morning with a smile on your face, looking forward to the day ahead, which many don't...
I'd like to live somewhere like that ... My son has told us he would like to move to the country so I'll be dissapointed if we don't try that in the next few years. More than 20 years in London is enough for me now ...

It's the best thing you can do Julian. London is a cesspit now. There are no 'nice' parts left, just a few less bad parts.

Surprised you haven't done a runner yet Geoff!

I really like where we live in Highgate, I wouldn't move anywhere else in London but of course it doesn't take you long to be in the cesspit areas ...
