    lol. I had a Mk2 Jag 3.8, was brown, mostly rust, and seemed to have a hole in the petrol tank the way it drank. Minis, yes, we've discussed this before still have a Mk1 with 1275 engine, a Mk2 with 998 Cooper engine and a Riley Elf. About 1984 I had a Capri 2.0 Laser, no Opel Manta's though.

    This was a later Capri, it was pretty sorted from standard, especially the suspension.

    My father used to run around in a dark blue Daimler V8 with wire wheels. The body shape was identical to the Jaguar Mk.II, save the scalloping of the radiator grill. It looked very good in a classic sort of way and certainly turned heads.

    Brakes were fine for the performance, the drums were about the same size as Classic Mini one's. In fact I fitted my car with Mini tyres, they being a bit wider than the standard tyres.

    Acceleration, well, let's just say it was adequate!!

    About 1967, before speed traps and cameras were around, I followed an E type Jag all the way from London to Bournemouth, he was not hanging around either, obviously, he could have lost me if he was really trying.

    Why is it that British 3 wheelers have the single wheel at the front instead of adopting the far more stable continental idea of having the single wheel at the rear? I'm guessing there must be some arcane reason for it?
