Got them from a site called 'Preloved'. He was asking £120 ovno. £95 was near enough. Looks better in the rack than the vrds 9 with my new pre and psu. If I could be arsed painting the base of my tt black it all my look half decent.

One of my old golf clubs has been pressed into service as a remote for the moment

So far I think the 9 sounded better. It had a rather nice dual differential PCM1702 arrangement. And a remote.

I feel there will be a dac being purchased at some point in the future.
Don't these units "feature" a modified Sony mech underneath the TEAC add-ons? If so, fixing shouldn't be too much of an issue with any luck.

It is based on Sony bits. It's had a new laser. Has had everything setup according to the service manual. I thought I had it working spot on, then noticed it wouldn't play tracks 10 and 11 of any cd properly. 1-9 and 12 onwards were fine. Will keep it and try to fix it at some point.
I believe it's all down to the servo and getting the thing to spin and the laser to move at at the right speeds.
Right now it's pushed right down the list of things to do. The 7 was a very good price so I though 'f**k it, I'll have one of those.

    Default Possible bargain on Ebay

I saw this, which is going to end soon http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hovland-RA...item3a6b47adf7

Somebody buy it..........I'd only get it if you can collect it, I wouldn't risk sending that much money to someone with a zero rating and charging £4 delivery for it.

Nice but a lot of bread given it is effectively 'spares or repair'

Yeah, I know. But, if I had the money I'd have clicked the button.
