Yeah, drats mate, that's a royal PITA....You seem to be quite unlucky with stuff like that, and in that respect I'm thinking of your 'graveyard' of CD players!
Anyway, hope you can get it fixed ASAP, by any which means possible. Being a preamp though, it shouldn't be too heavy, so you could box it up and send it to Alan, or I'm sure that Anthony would look at it for you?

Sent my Roksan Kandy through the post to Alan earlier this year and it was all very much hassle free. Also, Staffs to the West Midlands is it really that far ?

It is when you don't have a car though. And I'm right at the top of Staffordshire and Alan is some way south of Birmingham.
