Hey ho, enjoy the show anyway for those who are going
If only Scalford Hall could be airlifted somewhere else , it just wouldn't be the same without that amazing building.

    Default Scalford Show Updated Parking..

The grass verge outside the hotel grounds is the only place a visitor would have been able to park anyway. Last year I visited the Scalford hotel on the Saturday night for the informal get together (I have done every year) and the hotel car park and grounds were already entirely full just from the vehicles of the people showing the next day (many choose to stay overnight the night before). No matter how early a Sunday visitor arrived they wouldn't have got into the hotel car park.

Not so, if you got there early enough on the Sunday (9.30am). Every Scalford show I've attended (all since its inception), as an exhibitor or visitor, I've managed to park just outside the hotel. Never once have I had to park on a grass verge

You didn't go last year though as you had that car incident on the way - remember? I got there about 9:30 on the Sunday (last year) and they were already parking on the grass verges on the road outside.

I got there about 8.40 on the Sunday last year and there was only spaces on the grass parts of the driveway to the Hotel. (Near the car park). No room in the car park itself.

Ah yes, last year was the exception, but every other year I did. I guess it's got busier...

Yes, it has indeed got busier with attendance particularly picking up in the last two years (I would say).

Unfortunately, that changes nothing for me then, and still means if I'm coming to the show, it'll need to be by taxi, as I'm not parking my car on a public road. However, I would certainly encourage others, if they feel happy about that, to do so

    Marco.
I doubt your Merc would make it onto the verge and, if it did, probably wouldn't make it off again. Mrs B's 3 series Beemer wasn't having any of it when we attended as visitors in 2014.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, Adam. I certainly wouldn't want to risk damaging it, and leaving it parked on a public road (for me) is just tempting fate. I shall likely be taxi-ing it with Macca, from his place in Stoke

We'll wave at the riff-raff walking up from the road, as our driver takes us past and up to the hotel...
