    That's because it is totally mental. Walker Audio started off making quite ugly turntables based on sound engineering principles - more recently they seem to have had some sort of mental hiatus and gone all mega foo.

    Sadly, this 'lunatic fringe' aspect of high-end audio is what gives those of us who love the hobby a bad name....

    Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. LDR Stereo Coffee. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.

    Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.

    Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.

    Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

    Actually, they look a lot like the Jet ear rings my great aunt Nora used to wear. Honeymooned in Whitby, apparently. Impressive lady ... huge soundstage, but a rather overblown bottom end.
