I hate benders!
There, I've said it. I had to get that off my chest. It's been annoying me for ages.
Is it just me or are there loads of benders in record stores these days? I find it particularly annoying when i go out shopping. I can be minding my own business on a record buying spree and they start trying to catch my attention, leaning rakishly on the shelves, flurting with me. Trying to look more appealing than everything else in the store. Pretending they're attractive with their glossy shrink wrap and assuming that for some reason i'll be drawn towards them. I know they can't help themselves, it's not their fault, it's just the way that they've been brought up. But there's no need for it. I actually find it quite distasteful. Even though deep down I know I want to take them home with me.
So if you work at a record company, or a pressing plant, do me a favour, if you must try to value add by putting a 7" single or a CD in with the album that I want to buy then put it on the outside front cover- in the middle. Or if it's a gatefold sleeve put it between the bloody sides of the sleeve. Don't sodding well squeeze it inside an overly tight sleeve such that the record nearly breaks its back being bent over it and ends up so warped it'll barely play. That's not value adding, that's f_cking up my expensive new purchase.
Benders- i hate them.
