I've got a Lentek head amp spare that I was going to put up for sale that will do the trick nicely If you want it. I bought it last year to experiment with. It's excellent but my Trichord phono does everything I need. Interested? I'll throw in a new battery for nothing

    Default Altec 4722

I have a set of Altec 4722 that some consider the best SUT for the 103 built up into a case which can be seen here that I could be persuaded to sell.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I don't know if a SUT is better than a head amp, but I think the battery powered Albarry MCA11 is a fantastic piece of kit, it neither adds nor takes away anything from the performance of the cartridge.

    Hi Al,
Me, modded something? lolol, I'm lucky if I get the battery in the right way, no, this is a standard unit by Neil, it is switchable, 25, 50 or 100 Ohms.
the Albarry website has details about it, I heard it wipe the floor with a Lehman unit, it's as though it's not there, I feel I'm just getting what the cartridge is doing.

    cheers Al
