    Hello guys

I'm off early @ 7.15 to pick up one off these that came up for sale locally comes with all user manuals ETC and accessories just wondering whats the strengths with this deck are they as good as my RD80? Its top good to miss at this price if i dont have room i can always sell it to my dad .

PS how do i check the main bearing on viewing? Just want to be sure before i commit..? Also description says its not been used for several years so it will need a service sometime in 2016!

Let me know you pros , cons of this one chaps beautiful looking deck i must say.. budget it maybe

Depends on price I guess Looks nice though. Spin platter and see if it runs freely, put your ear close to spindle and see if you can hear rumbles or grumbles. Also check platter cannot move side-side at all.

I suspect with some oil and a clean up it'll be a beast.

You'd make your money back on the tonearm.

    No brainier buy.

Yes serious bargain. Those arms fetch £50 plus all day so you covered your costs there. The cart is a good match too. I used to have the same arm with an E77mg, that was a good sound.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

Just install an LV-V arm instead of the LV-X (straight swap). Fit a good headshell and you'll be able to use a decent MC cartridge. It's a good turntable.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Default RD40

Hi, had a rd40 from new, still use it daily.
One of the finest main bearings I have ever measured, just change oil on a regular basis
Fitted a Jelco sa 750d recently, superb!!!
Now fitted a SPEED BOX DS2 STROBO power supply, enable to change and regulate speed without removing platter. into a different league.
I had to downsize recently , one turntable had to go, out went the Gyro/Helius combo. SNM?
