    Default Various DAC's

I'm looking at the possibility of a new DAC and have the following in mind-

Caiman mk11 or 2nd hand Rega DAC-R, JKenny Ciunas or M2Tech Young.

Opinions and comparisons on any of these greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Bill

I have the Rega DAC and it's going to be my DAC of choice for a while yet . The USB input ( which I use ) sounds slightly different from the coax and the optical input so you have a choice of SQ . There are also 5 filter settings to choose from . Plenty of inputs , great flexibility , and it's plug in and play

Cheers Brian. After a few days on home trial, I'm buying a DAC-R. Great piece of kit!
First DAC I've listened to that improves on the HRT Music Streamer I had been using.

Agree, I've been listening to DAC-R during the weekend (unit on loan) and this is indeed fine DAC with good USB implementation. Quite nice, rounded, full bodies sound - without any digital grain to it. With the price range - doubt if you can find something better to really hear the difference.

Arcam irDAC also sounds very good - don't know what the new mk 2 sounds like.
