    I'm Geoff.

Default Tesco 'Bag For Life' Scandal!

Tesco are pulling another fast one.

I popped in there today and my 'bag for life' 10p carrier bag had a small hole in it, so I asked for a free replacement, which was the condition under which these are offered. Despite the signs still being up offering these, I was told no replacement could be made as they'd stopped handing them out. Apparently, it's now regarded as a free bag and illegal to provide one (so they say).

As far as I'm concerned. My 10p bought me an agreement with Tesco that they would provide replacement bags in perpetuum. They have to pay for them on my behalf, so how can it be free?

They may have to abide by any legal position they find themselves in, but have breached their agreement with me, even if that is due to unforeseen circumstances.

I guess the least they should do is refund my 10p for each of the dozens of these bags I own.

    After all 10p is 10p!!

This says that if it "breaks" they will replace it free of charge. I would go back and see the manager.

Did I do That? Not thinking too clearly the last day or two. Nursing a temperature from some little bug the grand kids kindly brought home for me.
