I couldn't believe it, all this time and held up by some screws!!!!!!! I suppose I could fit it anyway and put the spacers in when they come and slide them under the pcb, at least it will be glued. Were your screws long enough?

I thought about spreading the glue in place and then put it all back together and leave to try, that way the base plate will be in the optimal position and screwed down flat by the bearing bolts.

I also noticed when I was just offering it all up without fixing yet the platter ever so slight rises up and down when on the deck but not if I just put the bearing on a table?

Yes, thankfully all the bits I got worked. Worry not, you're very close now to nirvana...

Things getting easier now, the base plate is glued in position and drying.

I found that everytime i loosened the bolts that were aligning it to the original holes it wanted to move slightly on the glue so i kept them in about half a turn to hold it in place for about 5 hours and when I was sure it would no longer i removed the bolts before they stuck themselves in forever!

I didn't realise until now that the bearing no longer screws into the original screw holes in the plinth and is only held in purely by the base plate!

So not long to go now!

Glad its all coming together Andrew. The ETP is fab. Fitting the base-plate is fun and squeaky bum in equal measure . I took my time fitting mine and didnt rush any stage of the process whatsoever. I did it in the spare room upstairs away from everyone and everything. I used spirit levels to ensure the table it was on was level and used a spirit level on top of the base-plate once it was in place - as level as humanly possible for obvious reasons. Hats off to you for fitting it yourself. I was tempted to take the easy option but I believe no one will do these things with the same obsessive care and attention as the proud owner would.

Dont worry about any slight rise up and down from the platter but I do mean slight. I've had this with stock techie platters when looking close up at eye level. Remember the ETP is fairly bespoke and not machined by some large electronics outfit like Technics, Sony, Rega.... It must be seriously difficult to get it so right that it is produced perfect, spinning with absolute nil deviation - enjoy !! - Nirvana awaits
