Hardwarewise, there are a lot of things cheaper in the land of the rising sun, check out the price of things like second hand Koetsus etc. New my Rosewood sig cost £1200 in Tokyo against £3k plus in the UK. However my choice when I go there is to stock up on Japanese pressed vinyl, always perfect, super quality pressings. However, Japan is never a low price destination

I hope I never visit Japan. If I do, I'll be visiting Hi-Fi Do and I don't think there is an airline in the world that offers the baggage allowance I'd end up needing!

I've got the answer to that. Start collecting airmiles (Avious). Use them to buy a 1st class ticket (you'll only pay the airport taxes), you then get 32kilo luggage allowance times 3 per person. You can get quite a bit of HiFi in that allowance assuming you don't take any clothes.Originally Posted by Beobloke
