Well look what just arrived by courier on a Saturday morning...!
Two 5881 valves and three 12AX7 drivers that sound just like I imagined they would. The cabinet is a two by twelve inch but sadly, the amplifier can only drive eight Ohms so cannot drive both drive units simultaneously. I haven't tried the overdrive yet as it may offend the neighbours.

Just as I expected, a beautifully gorgeous, liquid midrange with a fabulous fat, clangy chime without the overdrive. The overdrive is very progressive requiring a large knob movement for just a little effect. The reverb is really good again requiring just a tad to be dialled in for a nice, subtle effect. Really nice finish to the cabinets with a nice clean look to it all. Not bad for less than 400 quid. Where do you get that kind of VFM in Hi-Fi circles, brand new...?
