My oldest son succeeded it doing just that. Not a pretty sight, joking aside.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I built a phono stage a while back and was gutted that one channel wasn't working. After a lot of solder joint checking etc. it was a faulty interconnect to blame.

Glad you've sorted out your issues!

So the thread has no direct relevance to the Edingdale speakers it's titled after
It might as well be titled "arse biscuits"!

"Arse Biscuits" a phrase I use, but have no idea where it came from or whether I made it up. Any clues?

'Twas said speaker that was not putting out sound so I thus used the name of the said speaker to start the thread then it developed into finding out it was the interconnect causing it

    Steven,
For the record there is only one d in Edingdale and glad the issue you had was nothing to do with the speakers which I sell and make.

I do wish you would change the title of this thread as the fault you were experiencing has nothing to do with the speakers and casts some doubt about the design. It gives out the wrong vibes.

In all the Edingdale speakers I have sold I have only had one issue with drivers and that was down to the owners grandchild poking a knitting needle in one the drivers punching a hole. That was solved with a replacement driver.

    Marco/Moderators

can you please arrange for the title of this thread to changed to a more suitable title reflecting the fault being a interconnect cable and nothing at all to do with a fault of the Edingdale speakers.

    Colin
