Default I've gone to the dark side

Well i haven't posted for a long while, so an update is probably past due. I've moved over to Bolton mainly to be closer to my family, but also for work and my new place just wasn't big enough to house my old system, so i've sold or gave a lot of it away, i still have a few bits that folks on here can have gratis, but i'll do a separate post for that.

So the dark side, is built round a Bose Acoustimas 10 series V 5.1 speaker system and a new Yamaha RX-V777 media amp, the sound is ok not as good as my old speakers but i really did need the space, my main gripe is that the sub is a bit too bassy but i'm sure i'll sort it out in due course. The amp is a lovely piece of kit and links nicely with both my phone and laptop over my home wireless network, and the bonus is that the amp has a phono input so my turntable still gets a bit of use. Anyway here is a pic of the setup.

Ohh and i am ashamed of my reckless disregard of audio quality when choosing my new system, but my new flat is small, really really small

Hi Mike, nice to see you around again. :-)
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

Use Imageshack or Photobucket, mate, instead of this iCloud thingy you're trying to do.

Looks great. And you've got a serving hatch in the wall that links through to the bridge of the Starship Enterprise.

    Seriously, though, very tidy.

Aye a fair bit of work involved in hiding all the bloody wires, thats the main drawback with home cinema set ups, that and you need to go down the Bose route unless you have a very big room and no wife. Seriously though it actually sounds a lot better than i hoped it would, i know real hifi lovers just hate Bose to the core, i was one of them, but the speakers are good quality and once you tame the bass (which takes time) it kicks out some good results.
