    Not a disaster, yet!

I'm looking for free software (for Windows), that will give me a graphic equaliser. Yes, programs like VLC Player have one, some soundcard drivers/ software have them too.

I want one that will be effective on all sound that comes through the computer.

    Thanks

Visit http://download.cnet.com/windows/ and have a poke through the music making related software. I'm sure I've seen something like that there. Much of the stuff shown is freeware.

It can be a bit circuitous finding things there. There are many different areas.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Thank you, used to use Download.com years ago, gave up when they started to use installers that more than often included unwanted stuff like toolbars etc.

But, I will have a search through and see if there is anything.

    Found this: http://www.freewarefiles.com/RealTim...ram_24090.html

Download.com does give the choice to opt out of attached/packaged unwanted 'extras'. I use the site a lot and have no bother.

Thanks, that looks excellent, will give it a go.

I got caught out when Download.com first started with the installer, put me off them.

Changed to Majorgeeks, it's pretty safe, but not so easy to find stuff.

Just downloaded and installed, sound is distorted whatever I have tried, says something in the notes about distortion, but I can't get this to work properly. It's the right sort of application though, need to try something else.

There are others. A good Google might deliver.

Disaster struck, I did find something else, caused a system problem. Ended up having to use a clone of the drive that I made yesterday.
