Itll probably sort its self out eventually but when is anyone's guess. I removed all the files microsoft put on my pc . it was also done by stealrh. Judging by others who have upgraded and got locked in to the w10 march to wirld dominance ive made a good decision. Its sad when you can no longer trust a company that made the software that runs your pc.

Another catastrophe. Last night my daughter asked me to hook her Blackberry phone to my PC to remove some photos from it. After letting the Blackberry load all the necessary files, including some Windows updates it seemed to need, all seemed OK until I restarted the PC. It fires up, the lights flash and the fan goes, but it won't even boot into bios now. Is it buggered? I don't know. I'll try it again later. It was my favourite PC too, nice and fast.

That is strange, perhaps a faulty stick of RAM, but a bit of a coincidence.

This is weird. Just reconnected the PC and it fired up and wanted to run Startup Repair, which I did and it all seems to be working OK. But! I wanted to run system restore to remove all the crap that my daughter's Blackberry had loaded and now find that system restore is missing from system tools.

I'll see if I can boot in safe mode and locate system restore (F8 if I recall).

As you got no BIOS, that may be a clue, I'm not saying that it is faulty RAM, but it might be.

    Done it!

Got system restore via safe mode and put the PC back to how it was a few days ago. System restore still missing from system tools though. Bloody Microsoft deleting stuff I'll bet, so people can't mess about with the W10 install they want everybody to use.

As I can access it from safe mode, it's not a big deal. but I'm tempted to reinstall the W7 O/S and block any updates that may be tinkering with the system adversely (if I can identify them ).

I wonder if the refusal to boot into bios last night could be down to a tired CMOS battery. If I recall it can have an effect on start up with some motherboards.

Just got System Restore back on screen typing RSTRUI in search. Handy.
