Entire Record Collection for Sale
Hi
My (plus some of my wife's) 12" vinyl collection is up for sale. All have been played on a Rega Planar 3 or highly modified Lenco GL75 and always carefully handled. Many of them have been cleaned on a Moth record cleaning machine, immediately inserted into a new anti static sleeve and then left alone.
Many of my records have seen little or no use even though I have had them for many years. This is due almost entirely to CDs which I 'converted' to many years ago. I never really got on with the vinyl cleaning, prep. ritual or the irritating 'snap, crackle and pop' that comes free with all LPs.
Unlike many people bitten by the CD bug back in the 1980s I hung onto my record collection until, well, now really. In fact, I've never sold a single record in my life! Not any more though because everything is up for sale (motivated in part by a huge credit card debt arising from buying a 'new' SH Ayon CD player). I am well aware that many vinyl lovers on this forum will be cringing at the prospect of what I am about to do but there you go - see it as an opportunity to stock up on much loved vinyl at low prices!!
You can buy one, some or the whole lot.
Trying to ascertain an LP's condition is very difficult because we all have different tolerance levels of acceptability. I am well aware of the various methods out there but do not like them because in the end determining condition based on known criteria still requires a degree of subjectivity. To make it even more complicated, I have experienced great variation in record pressing quality. Even though I have purchased over a 100 LPs I have never had a single one that is snap, crack and pop free.
The vast majority of my LPs have been handled carefully, stored upright, played on a correctly set up high quality turntable from day one, cleaned correctly and kept away from sunlight or heat sources. No record has been played more than 25 times. No way. As you will see from the list below some have not been played at all which frankly is pretty shameful. So, taking all these factors into account I suspect that you will have a pretty good idea of what to expect from most of my LPs. This is absolutely not a clear out of worn out played to death LPs!!!!
My LPs that are priced over £5 are good uns. Simple as that. If you expect CD quality levels of background noise from these, i.e. none, forget it. There will be the odd click, pop, etc. and fine scratches, 99% of which have been created by the simple act of removing/replacing the records in their sleeves. That's vinyl...
So, £5+ plus denotes a really good quality sound/cover/sleeve. Some are priced less than that despite being in superb condition. This is because I think they are awful albums not worthy of slugging it out with the likes of Rush, Pink Floyd, etc. I hope fans of Adam and the Ants for example are not offended by this. It's just my harmless opinion...

The above prices are exclusive of postage and packing. I've had a look on ebay and found decent LP mailers which work out around 20 - 40p/record. Beyond that, how much the postage will be depends on how many LPs you want. Best to let me know and I will come back with a final price.
