I wonder how many LPs you could buy for the price of a pair of those amps?

    Excellent WAF by the way!

I like those Marco. The semi industrial look appeals.

It's some of the speakers shown that I see as 'challenged' in the appearance department. Why for instance, somebody would choose a finish that looks like a creosoted shed, I'm not sure.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Ah yes, the horns... I agree there. Some parts look like a cobbled together garden fence!

However, ultimately it's how they sound that matters. That is especially the case when speakers are housed in a dedicated listening room, where concessions to specific decor requirements are a non-issue.

I suspect that the room belonging to the owner of those horns is a case in point

Bet they sound fantastic, the 4212 is a great sounding valve.

    Isn't that the STC variant?

There was some fairly crazy dude on a forum who DIY breadboarded a 212 amp. He couldn't afford the transformers to do them justice, but reckoned what they did with what he had was great.

There are some enormous mercury vapour rectifiers used to power railways on YouTube. Just plain crazy huge. At work so can't post a link.

you can buy these new for $27,000 a pair but not in the EU/UK as they are not CE Marked
nasty things inside the rectifiers & valves & not very kid/dog friendly with 1500vdc on live terminals

Matching horns if you have the room

    Matching speakers
